Van Converters Guided to design smarter builds

DIY converting a van isn’t easy, especially the first time.

The biggest problem is you don’t know what you don’t know — and tiny mistakes snowball into expensive rework, lost morale, and delayed freedom.

This workshop is the calm, grounded map we wish we had.

What You’ll Walk Away With

(and use immediately)

  • A clear picture of why builds stall (and how to avoid it)

  • The 3 most common DIY van build traps — and the simple fixes

  • A clear way to design a life-fit layout (not an Instagram copy)

  • A simple way to stop the research spiral and make confident decisions and right-size power / water / climate

  • A build-order principle that prevents rework and protects your morale

  • Your next 3 moves, based on where you are right now

Do You Feel Stuck in indecision from endless contradicting research?

The van world is loud. Everyone has a take.

None of it is tailored to your life.
And when you try to piece it together from YouTube and forums, you end up with a van that looks good on day one… only to start crumbling by month six.

A safe, comfortable off-grid home isn’t built from hacks.

It’s built from a clear sequence map:

layout → systems → build order + YOU.

This isn’t a motivation problem. It’s a Design problem

Most People struggle

with their van conversions

all alone.

Is this You?

  • Too many tabs. Too many opinions.

  • Not enough certainty.

  • Layout decisions feel impossible because every feature has a trade-off.

  • Systems feel scary: fire, floods, mould, freezing, and electrocution.

  • The build feels like: “If I do this first, I’ll block something later.”

  • And most importantly, there's no one to ASK.

Workshop core Principles

  1. Embrace Your Vision

Design a layout that matches your quirks and family rhythm — so it feels like home from day one.

  1. Build Upon What You Know

Cut the noise and right-size your systems with bite-sized, linear questions — so your setup is safe and practical.

  1. Build Momentum

Turn your design into a build order you can follow — so you stop redoing work and start moving forward.

Your Workshop Hosts:
Polly and Sam
After designing 12+ layouts for clients and personal use, living vanlife off-grid for 3+ years, and DIY-converting 6 vans, we’ve learned what actually makes a tiny space livable long-term.
We specialise in full-time, open-plan family builds — the kind that feel like home, not a plastic showroom.
These days we’re refining our build order so a fully off-grid panel-van conversion can happen in 3–4 months, not 3–4 years. We’ve also built a simple Van Build Brain (Notion) to keep your decisions, links, budget and weight in one place — so you can stop spiralling and start moving.

"These two really know how to make a tiny van feel like a palace and yet keep the functionality of a home.

I have finally understood how to design a campervan to fit my needs and not the bog standard bed at the back pile up.

FAQ

Do I need to already own a van?

No. This workshop is ideal if you’re choosing a base vehicle, planning your layout, or in the early stages of your build.

Is this for families or couples?

Both. We’ll speak to the reality of living in tiny spaces — privacy, routines, seasons, work setups, and all the little friction points. We invite anyone who is committed to the lifestyle change and wants to support the build process with a solid design under your belt.

Will you cover electrics/plumbing/heating?

Yes — we discuss system anxiety and conflicting advice and how to break through the noise so you free yourself from the research fog and start making safe, practical decisions.

Will there be a replay?

Yes. You’ll receive the replay after the workshop.

Is this a sales webinar?

No. There is nothing to buy at the end of this workshop. There is a free invitation and a gift. It’s a real workshop. We’ll offer a next step for those who want it, but the goal is for you to leave with clarity either way.

This workshop is
NOT for you if:
  • You only want a copy-paste Instagram build

  • You’re ignoring weight, safety, budget realities, or the consequences of winging it

  • You want someone to “do it all for you” without learning or taking responsibility

This workshop is
for you if:
  • You’re building a van to create real freedom (not just a pretty interior)

  • You want your van to feel like home — not cramped, chaotic, or fragile

  • You care about safety, comfort, and doing it properly

  • You’re either:

    • choosing a base vehicle

    • sketching your layout

    • trying to size power/water/heating

    • or staring at an empty van thinking “where do I even start?”
